Virgel L. Baldwin
Virgel L. Baldwin, 76, of Flintstone passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at his residence.
He was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga and North Georgia area and a 1966 graduate of Chattanooga Valley High School. Virgel was a United States Army Veteran having served in Vietnam and he served with the Army National Guard. He was a 32nd degree Master Mason and a Shriner Scottish Rite. Virgel was a member of the American Legion Post 95 where he served on the Honor Guard, a member of the VVA 203, and the VFW Post 4848. He was the owner and operator of B&R Properties. Virgel loved his family and his five German Shepherds. He was an avid TN Vol fan and he loved playing Pac Man, Pool, and Cards with his friends on the Boulevard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Beulah Baldwin; and brother, Gene Baldwin.
Survivors include his children, Sherry (Ron) Ingram, Michelle Reagan, Tim (Christy) Jarvis, and Hillary Cagle; sister, Linda Baldwin; his “Running Mate”, Butch O’Kelley; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 21, at 2 p.m. at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors provided by the U.S. Army and the American Legion Post 95.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, Rossville.
