Covenant Women's Tennis Outmatched By Berry

The Covenant women's tennis team battled Berry at home in an in-state battle. The Scots were outmatched, as the Vikings took home an 8-1 win. 

Lauren Carr and Addi Gunyon dropped a close match to Juliana Mascagni and Lauren Masteller 7-8 (4-7) in the No. 1 ranked match. Macy Matson and Dani Rappuhn were defeated by Saris Mejia and Lacey Craig 3-8 in the No. 2 slot. In the No. 3 position, Alexis Baker and Angel Traylor fell 5-8 to Olivia Walton and Angella Thornton as the Vikings swept all three doubles points. 

In singles, Carr ended her day with a 0-6, 4-6 defeat to Masteller in the No. 1 slot.  Gunyon was outmatched against Craig, falling 1-6, 0-6 in the No. 2 position. Matson picked up Covenant's lone point of the day with a 6-4, 7-5 win over Walton in the No. 3 slot. Baker had no luck in a 4-6, 1-6 defeat to Mejia in the No. 4 ranked match. In the No. 5 position, Traylor fought hard, but was defeated by Momo Manning 0-6, 6-3, 0-1 (10-4). In the final match, Rappuhn fell 2-6, 0-6 to Thornton. 

Covenant begins its Spring Break trip to Texas on Thursday, Feb. 29 against Concordia.
