That is surely a fair and honest question, quite reasonable right now, but I cannot find an answer on the Internet.
According to Wikipedia, Alejandro Mayorkas was born in Cuba in 1959; his father was a Cuban Jew, and his mother was a Romanian Jew whose family had fled to Cuba during the Holocaust. The Mayorkas family fled Castro's Cuba in 1960, coming first to Miami and then moving to Los Angeles.
The man's education as a child and as an adult are spelled out simply enough for me to understand, but nowhere can I find any statement concerning when, if ever, his parents and he became naturalized citizens of this country.
I'm not trying to be a nitpicker, but considering the present situation involving Alejandro Mayorkas, it seems reasonable to ask, exactly when and where did the man become a legitimate American citizen?
The question produces abundant 'hits' on the Web, but they all dance around the question by telling about his parents' history, his education, his employment and political records, etc., without ever answering that most basic question.
So ... can anyone give a real answer, or not?
