Norma J. Haynes
Norma J. Haynes, of Hixson, is now looking into the beautiful face of her Savior. Her body has been healed from the pain and struggles she has faced for years. She is worshipping Jesus in her new heavenly body.
Norma was born at home on Nov. 28, 1933. She graduated from Hixson High School in 1951. She was named Miss Hixson High in her graduating class. She worked for years as a customer service representative for North America Royalties, Lockheed and the Lorain Corp. Norma retired in 1985 to serve in her most rewarding mission as being a homemaker and grandmother. To the many folks who knew her, she was affectionately known as “Grandma”.
She was preceded in death by her husband, of 56 years, W.D. (Dub) Haynes and her parents, James F. Jones and Rosa Lee Carmichael Jones. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Garnett F. Jones and sister, Doris Pelfrey.
Norma is survived by her son, Marty (Esther) Haynes of Hixson and daughter, Mitzi Gail (Marty) Hamby of Cayce, SC; grandsons, David (Nicki) Haynes, of Signal Mountain and Miller Haynes, of Hixson; granddaughters, Mary Beth Hamby and Mackenzie Hamby of Cayce, SC and great-grandchildren Marjorie Demonbren, Mallory Haynes and Manning Haynes.
Visitation will be at Hamilton Funeral Home on Saturday, May 25, from 12 p.m. until funeral service time at 3 p.m. Private burial service will be at a later date.
