Collegedale Police Begins Local Line-Up Initiative

  • Wednesday, August 14, 2024
The Collegedale Police Department’s day shift Charlie Team was hosted Wednesday morning by the residents of the Greenbriar Cove community for the agency’s latest community outreach program.

The Local Line-Up initiative offers local citizens a unique opportunity to engage with and host the agency’s patrol teams at the start of their shift. It allows the community to take part in the officers’ conversations and activities, fostering stronger relationships between the people and their police department.

“What a wonderful time we had with the Collegedale Police Department today during our new resident coffee reception” said HOA Representative Karen Smith.
“It was nice to meet the officers and K-9 unit. We appreciate all that the officers do to keep us safe and their service to our community.”

Following a welcome from Chief Jack Sapp, the officers were briefed about Tennessee’s Handle With Care program, emphasizing the importance of an informed response to children exposed to trauma.

Subsequently, they received their daily assignments from the day shift supervisor, Sergeant Cory McNeal.
The event concluded with a question and answer session that involved both the community members and the police department.

"I can’t thank the residents of Greenbriar Cove enough," said Chief Sapp. "Their kindness and hospitality to all of us was incredible. Since becoming your chief of police, I have worked hard to maintain a transparent agency and to foster a true partnership with the community we serve. This initiative is another example of how this agency and our officers are continuing to set the standard when it comes to transparent policing. I look forward to more opportunities to take part in events such as this."

"Are you a local neighborhood in Collegedale, an apartment complex, a business or community center
