Park(ing) For Community Is Friday

  • Tuesday, September 17, 2024

Park(ing) Day is a global event where communities temporarily repurpose street parking spaces into tiny parks and places for art, play, and activism. Local non-profit Chattanooga Design Studio will host the event locally on Friday along two blocks of Broad Street from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

The theme of the event, The Parklet of Your Dreams, was chosen by the event committee to inspire parklet hosts to think creatively about space typically reserved for cars. The parking spaces, referred to as parklets, are being hosted by nearly 50 organizations and individuals who will transform them into community space for activity, playfulness and connection.

All ages are invited to attend this event and visit the different parklets free of charge. Learn more and register at chattanoogastudio.com/dreams-parking-day

Chattanooga Design Studio is an independent non-profit community resource that promotes excellence in urban design through education, facilitation, and collaboration.
