Diane Daniel Reed, 67, of Signal Mountain, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at her home.

Born on May 8, 1957, in Clarksburg, WV, Diane was the daughter of the late Wallace Gordon Daniel and Mary Katherine Gertch Daniel. She proudly earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC). Diane retired from UTC in 2016 after many years of service to UTC, the Public Education Foundation (PEF), and the Hamilton County Schools. She loved her family immensely, helping and caring for them in every way. Over the past five years her passion had been spending time with her granddaughter, Daegyn. In her free time, Diane hand made greeting cards for programs like From the Heart, sending notes of care and sunshine to those without someone. In the past year alone, Diane made and sent over 3,000 cards.

Survivors include her husband, David Reed; daughters, Kimberly (Kim) Davison (Brett Fuchs) and Kathryn (Kat) Davison (Derek Maples); granddaughter, Daegyn Maples; step-granddaughters, Dahlia Maples and Delaney Maples; brothers, Dan Daniel (Tracey Daniel) and Don Daniel (Anna Jane Daniel); and sister, Donna Daniel (Kevin Ascherfeld).

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to McCoy Farm and Gardens, 1604 Taft Highway, Signal Mountain, Tn. 37377. For more information, visit mccoyfarmandgardens.com
