The City of Chattanooga, in partnership with La Paz Chattanooga, Highland Park Commons and The Bethlehem Center, will host the city's second annual Hispanic Heritage Festival and the Beth Cup Soccer Tournament this Saturday in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month.
“We are thrilled to continue this tradition of honoring and celebrating the contributions of the Latino community in Chattanooga,” said Mayor Tim Kelly. “This event not only highlights the rich cultural heritage of our Hispanic neighbors, but also unites our entire community through food, music, and soccer.”
The Hispanic Heritage Festival is part of Hispanic Heritage Month, a celebration from Sept.
15 to Oct. 15 honoring the history, culture and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America.
This Hispanic Heritage Festival is free, open to the public, and will take place from noon-7 p.m. at Highland Park at Commons, 2000 Union Ave. in Chattanooga.
In addition to enjoying food, activities and arts and crafts from local vendors, the festival will feature live performances by Latino musicians, DJs, folkloric dancers and The Pop Up Project from noon-4 p.m. The Beth Cup soccer tournament, which coincides with the Hispanic Heritage Month celebration, will occur from 3-7 p.m., where local teams will compete in a friendly competition.
