To raise awareness and support for domestic violence survivors, the Chattanooga Police Department and the Chattanooga Hamilton County Family Justice Center announce a collaborative event this October in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
The "Partners In Hope" event will occur on Thursday beginning at 9 a.m. at the Family Justice Center, 5705 Uptain Road. This event was created to raise awareness of domestic violence and show how both organizations are working together to combat this issue.
"Domestic violence is a serious issue that affects individuals and families in our community," said John Chambers, Chattanooga Police Department's police chief. "By partnering with the Family Justice Center, we aim to break the silence surrounding this issue and encourage those affected to seek help."
Regina McDevitt, executive director of the Family Justice Center, added, "As we observe Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we honor the strength and resilience of survivors while recognizing the critical role law enforcement plays as our partners in ensuring their safety. Together, we create a network of support and protection, sending a clear message that violence has no place in our communities. By working hand in hand, we strive to provide survivors with the justice, healing, and hope they deserve."
