Southern Exposure in partnership with Obvious Dad presents: After Effects: Gun Violence Survivors Speak, written by Peggy Douglas and directed by Erin Gilley.
Review for the play:
This powerful original play features poetic monologues created from oral history interviews with Chattanoogans affected by gun violence. These true stories are brought to life by local actors in a moving exploration of the lingering After Effects that have impacted our community. After each performance, join the playwright and a panel of experts for a brief, insightful talkback.
The cast includes Jake Aragon, Nancy Berg, Lizzie Chazen, Emma Sofia Griffin, Sue Ann Gunn, Jason Hackbarth, Michael Marin-Howard, Kashun Parks, Hunter Rogers, Satedra Smith, Crissy Varnell, and Shelia Wofford. A talkback after the shows will be led by Dr. Rick Dierenfeldt, UTC Department Head of Criminal Justice.
Performances will be Saturday, Sept. 28, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 29, at 2:30 p.m. at Barking Legs Theater, 1307 Dodds Ave.
