The Walk Run Pedal Jamz Festival has two events benefiting the Forgotten Child Fund, a City Wide Karaoke Contest and a Walk Run Pedal Jamz Festival. The Forgotten Child Fund is a charitable organization run by volunteer Chattanooga Firefighters and Hamilton County EMS employees. Their primary goal is to ensure no child is forgotten during Christmas. Last year, they provided Christmas to 13,000 children and, in collaboration with other groups, distributed over 5,000 coats to children in need.
Here are the details of the upcoming events:
The City Wide Karaoke Contest – Going on Now
The City Wide Karaoke Contest is currently taking place at five locations in Chattanooga: The Brew & Cue, Bar Watson, Homeplate Bar & Grill, Southside Social and Slick’s Burgers. Each venue will hold weekly contests and choose five winners to compete in the karaoke finals.
The karaoke finals will be held at Dave & Buster’s on Sept. 26 starting at 6 p.m., with prizes for the top three contestants. The top three winners from the karaoke finals will also perform at the Walk Run Pedal Jamz Festival on Oct. 5 at the Tennessee Riverpark.
Dave & Buster’s will donate 20 percent of the food and non-alcoholic drink sales during the Karaoke Contest Finals to the Forgotten Child Fund.
The Walk Run Pedal Jamz Festival - Oct. 5
The Walk Run Pedal Jamz Festival includes a leisurely 2-mile walk, 2-mile run, and 22-mile bike ride along the riverfront, with all registration fees going directly to the Forgotten Child Fund. The festival will feature food trucks, vendor tents, a toddler walk, a kids zone, live music by Stephy J Moore and The Dexter Thomas Band, and free giveaways.
