The Chattanooga Mocs women’s golf team shot 611 over 36 holes Monday at the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M. The ladies started out with 296 before shooting 315 over the second 18 on the Championship Course at UNM.
The opening 295 was led by Violeta Fernandez-Tagle with level-par 72. Kera Healey and Giulia Foresta supported that with 74. Makenzie Cooper closed out the team tally with 76 while Alexis Daniel had the drop score with 81.
Fernandez-Tagle once again led the way in the afternoon shooting 76.
Healey was next at 78, one ahead of Cooper’s 79. Daniel completed the team score with 82 as Foresta’s 84 was the drop.
“The first round was good,” Coach Colette Murray shared. “We were happy with it. The second round was just a combination of things. There are so many things this team has going for it, but the second round was an eye opener as to what still needs to be done for us to truly be the team we want to be.”
