Virginia Ann “Ginny” DePrimo, 71, of Ooltewah, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, January 24, 2025.

Ginny was born in Columbia, SC, on Nov. 19, 1953, the daughter of the late Lloyd McGowan and Sherry McGowan. She was a member of ChristWay Community Church where she was devoted to the special needs ministry. Ginny retired from Orange Grove Center after 25 years of service and previously worked at Hamilton County Nursing Home.

In addition to her parents, Ginny was preceded in death by her first husband, Curtis Hawkins and second husband, Michael T. Ledford.

Survivors include her husband, Joe DePrimo; sons, Eddie Hawkins (Brenda) and Troy DePrimo; a daughter, Marie Hawkins (Tomas Pedro Pablo); step-sons, Jim DePrimo (Polly) and John DePrimo (Lisa); step-daughter, Martha Drew (Jeb); 16 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and siblings, Dale McGowan (Reba), Michael McGowan, Carl McGowan, and Patricia McGowan.

A Celebration of Life will be o Wednesday, Jan. 29, at 12 p.m. at Heritage Chapel. Interment will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the service hour at Heritage Funeral Home.

The following will serve as pallbearers: Eddie Hawkins, Carlos Hawkins, Luis Hawkins, Tomas Pedro Pablo, Troy DePrimo, and Thomas Cook.

In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests memorial contributions be made to ChristWay Community Church, 6201 Mountain View Road, Collegedale, Tn. 37363.
