Richard Eugene Pauley, 78, of Chickamauga, Georgia, formerly of Columbus, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2024.
Richard was born in Charleston, W.V., on Aug. 15, 1946, the son of the late Richard Charles Pauley and Glendell Mae Stewart Pauley. He graduated from Hurricane High School in 1964 and earned his bachelor’s degree from West Virginia State University. Richard proudly served in the United States Navy. He was a devout member of Christ United Methodist Church. Richard retired from American Electric Power in Columbus, OH, as an engineer after many years of service. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed fishing and any sports especially the West Virginia Mountaineers. Richard loved being with his family especially his two grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his sister, Joyce Good.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Sally Kaye Holman Pauley; daughter, Lisa Kaye Pauley; son, Richard Eugene Pauley, II (Lisa); two grandchildren, Logan Anthony Pauley and Delaney Grace Pauley; brother, Charles David Pauley (Rebecca); and two sisters, Janet Raether (Ron) and Sandra Lewis (Darrell). Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, Feb. 1, at 1 p.m. at Cross Lanes United Methodist Church, 5320 Frontier Drive, Cross Lanes, WV 25313.
