Whataburger, a beloved American fast-food chain, plans to open a restaurant at 6521 Ringgold Road in East Ridge.
This is the former site of the popular Wally’s Restaurant.
BKW Properties, LLC, in partnership with MWB Restaurants LLC, will spearhead the development of Whataburger’s first location in Hamilton County. The East Ridge Industrial Development Board has approved the Border Region development agreement, paving the way for final approval by the East Ridge City Council during their meeting next Thursday.
Construction is expected to commence within the next few months, with the grand opening projected by the end of the year.
East Ridge Mayor Brian Williams said, "I am thrilled to welcome Whataburger to East Ridge.
This has been an incredible project to work on over the past couple of years, and it is rewarding to see Whataburger choose East Ridge as its newest home. This prime location will be a fantastic addition to our community and economy.
"As Whataburger celebrates its milestone 75th Anniversary this year, it continues to expand its legacy. Since its founding in 1950 in Corpus Christi, Texas, the brand has grown to more than 1,080 locations across 16 states. Known for its signature burgers, Whataburger has also evolved its menu to include a diverse range of options such as chicken, breakfast, salads, desserts, and the ever-popular All-Time Favorites, along with limited-time offers that create tens of thousands of possible customization combinations.
"With a long-standing reputation for quality and customer satisfaction, Whataburger’s arrival in East Ridge is set to offer residents and visitors an exciting new dining experience."
