Tennessee raced out to a 22-point lead over Oklahoma at Norman on Saturday afternoon and wound up winning, 70-52.
It was the first meeting between the two schools in 56 years.
Chaz Lanier tallied 21 points and Zakia Zeigler had 17. Igor Milicic and Felix Okpara had eight each.
Tennessee took control early, hitting 14 of its first 16 shots, including 5 for 5 from 3-point range. It was a Ziegler three that put the Vols up 41-21 still in the first half. A Milici free throw pushed it to 45-33.
Tennessee led at intermission 45-25.
An Akpara jumper early in the second half put Tennessee ahead 68-40
The Sooners scored the next seven points, but an Okpara dunk on an assist from Bishop Boswell kept the lead at 70-47.
Tennessee shot 60.4 from the field, while Oklahoma was held to 32.1 percent. The Vols connected on nine threes.
The Vols won the battle of the boards - 35-21.
Tennessee did commit 19 turnovers, compared to 12 for Oklahoma.
The Vols had 36 points in the paint.
Tennessee improves to 20-4, 7-4, while Oklahoma drops to 16-7, 3-7.
