The Human Bean, a locally owned and operated drive-thru coffee shop at 735 Battlefield Pkwy. in Fort Oglethorpe announce a collaboration with Fraternity of the 4 Paws, a foster-based dog rescue organization from Rossville, for a fundraising and adoption event on Tuesday, April 1. The Human Bean will donate 10 percent of all sales from 5-7 p.m. These funds will directly support Fraternity of the 4 Paws' mission to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome abandoned, abused and neglected dogs.
Fraternity of the 4 Paws will also have adoptable dogs on-site from 10 a.m.-noon, offering community members a chance to meet potential new furry family members.
Officials said, "Fraternity of the 4 Paws embodies the principle of 'Rescue, Rehabilitate, Repeat,' demonstrating their commitment to saving local dogs.
In 2024 alone, they achieved over 100 successful adoptions and reunifications out of 118 dogs rescued. Their goal for 2025 is to complete at least 25 adoptions per quarter, which will unlock new grant opportunities to further support their mission."
“We are thrilled to partner with The Human Bean for this important event,” said Kelley Lively, founder and president of Fraternity of the 4 Paws. “Their generosity will significantly impact our ability to care for and find forever homes for the dogs in our community.”
Local owners of The Human Bean, Dipali and Rikesh Patel, said they were enthusiastic for the collaboration, saying, “We are excited for our first community fundraiser with Fraternity of the 4 Paws and look forward to making a positive impact together with 'Bean on the top.’”
Community members are invited to support the cause by visiting The Human Bean to enjoy espresso, coffee, tea, smoothies and kid-friendly beverages. Customers are also encouraged to bring their furry friends along for a complimentary "Pup Cup," ensuring every family member enjoys the visit.
Officials said, "Funds raised during this event will directly enable Fraternity of the 4 Paws to expand rescue efforts, allowing more abandoned and neglected dogs to be saved from dangerous situations, provide critical medical treatments such as vaccinations and spay/neuter procedures, ensuring dogs are healthy and ready for adoption, enhance rehabilitation programs, preparing dogs with essential training and socialization for successful adoption, and increase community outreach and education initiatives, promoting responsible pet ownership and reducing animal neglect.
