Jennifer Pharr Davis
Southern Adventist University welcomes author and entrepreneur Jennifer Pharr Davis to speak on resilience, adaptability, clear communication, goals and teamwork for the E.A. Anderson Lecture on Monday, April 14, beginning promptly at 6:50 p.m. in Room 3205 of Brock Hall.
An accomplished hiker, speaker, author, and entrepreneur, Ms. Davis has hiked over 14,000 miles on six continents and in all 50 U.S. states. Notably, in 2011, she became the first woman to hold the overall record—the fastest known time—for hiking the Appalachian Trail by completing the 2,190-mile hike in 46 days. This feat prompted National Geographic to award her the title Adventurer of the Year. As a mother, Ms. Davis continues to push boundaries, hiking across the Pyrenees and Iceland while pregnant and exploring trails with her children. She is the founder of Blue Ridge Hiking Company in Asheville, N.C., where she lives with her family.
The E.A. Anderson Lecture Series is an annual feature of the Institute of Ethical Leadership housed within Southern’s School of Business. The free series aims to develop and support leaders through education and experience while fostering ethical marketplace environments. Made possible by the generosity of the late E.A. Anderson of Atlanta, the lectures promote expertise and perspectives from business leaders from across the country.
Business casual attire is required for all attendees, continuing education credit is offered, seating is limited, and doors close at 7 p.m. For more information, visit southern.edu/businesslectures.
