  • Wednesday, April 2, 2025

Episode 64 of Boomer Time with Nancy Cogar podcast is aimed at supporting individuals who are navigating the complexities of elder care. The episode draws on the personal experience of Nancy A. Cogar, Esq., who is both an estate planning attorney and caregiver. In a candid and heartfelt discussion, she shares the story of her 83-year-old mother’s recent stroke and the subsequent transition from independent to assisted living.

This deeply personal discussion highlights the emotional, legal and practical challenges faced by caregivers, including the emotional toll, legal considerations, financial implications and self-care for caregivers. Mrs. Cogar and her husband, Gary, have been caregivers for her mother for more than a decade, and she discusses the often-unseen challenges faced by families during these transitions. Her latest podcast episode aims to provide valuable insights and support for those facing similar situations.

Mrs. Cogar has a Chattanooga-based practice in estate planning, elder law, long-term care planning and advocacy for older adults. As a partner with Samples, Jennings, Clem & Fields, PLLC, she is committed to comprehensive, competent and compassionate advocacy for seniors, caregivers and families navigating aging and the incoming Silver Tsunami.
