Jimmie Glover Raper, 94, of Harrison went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 2, 2025.

A lifelong resident of Hamilton County, Mrs. Raper spent over 30 years in office management and insurance appraisal.

She was a member of Chamberlain Memorial Baptist Church where she sang in the choir, the ladies trio and duets with her late husband.

Mrs. Raper was president of the first Women’s Church Softball League in Chattanooga and brought the first Women’s National Tournament to Chattanooga alongside Phil Daniels and ASA.

She was an avid UTC football and basketball fan along with the TN Vols, the Lady Vols and professional football.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Fannie Glover; husband, Dean Raper; grandson, Jared Hodges; and sisters, Jackie Capps and Tommie Worley.

Mrs. Raper is survived by her daughters, Pam Raper (her loving caregiver), Debbie (Larry) Hodges, Ooltewah,, and Kim (Steve) Pruett, Soddy; three grandchildren, Jason (Stephanie) Hodges, Kristy (Eric) Bovee, and Kevin Scott; several great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Ralph Tate, Debi Morse, Cindy Nabors, Frank and Kelli Seymore, Lou and Pat Baakan, and Gay Whitaker.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, April 5, at 2:30 p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery with Kenny Pendergrass speaking. Pallbearers will be Jason Hodges, Skyler Hodges, Marty Bryant, Tim White, Scott Daugherty, and Billy Gross.

The family would like to express their thanks to Hospice of Chattanooga, Doctors Home Visits of Soddy Daisy and PA, Janice Burgess for all of their love and care.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 5, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, 7454 E. Brainerd Road.
