Dora Jane Whitman
Dora Jane Whitman, 81, of Chattanooga, passed away Monday, June 16, 2025.
She was a beautician in North Carolina for many years. Known for her love of crafts and sewing, Jane had a gift for turning simple materials into something extraordinary. Whether it was a homemade quilt, a delicate dress, or Christmas decorations, her creations were filled with love and care. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in every stitch, and every handmade craft left behind.
Jane was preceded in death by parents, Charles Green and Madoline Grace Storey; son, Charles Keith Whitman; and six of her siblings.
Survivors include her sons, Bill (Kim) Whitman, Dennis (Amy) Whitman, Paul Woody; daughter, Tamara Whitman; a host of grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Health Center at Standifer Place, 2626 Walker Road, Chattanooga, Tn. 37421.
A visitation for Jane will be held on Saturday, June 28, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel, 5401 Highway 153 Hixson, Tn. 37343. The celebration of life service will follow the visitation starting at 12 p.m. at the funeral home.
