Boynton Lions Host Lyle, Lyle Crocodile At Patriot Hall July 8

  • Monday, June 23, 2025
The Boynton Lions Club of Ringgold and the Ringgold Convention and Visitors Bureau is hosting a Summer Movie Night at Patriot Hall, 320 Emberson Dr. in Ringgold, on Tuesday, July 8 at 7 p.m. The event features Lyle, Lyle Crocodile and aids Catoosa County residents to improve their sight and assist with other Lions projects.

The event is free, but donations will be received. Concessions will be available for purchase. Children 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Lions will also collect used glasses for recycling.

Event partners are Blackwell Automotive, Builtwell Bank and Hamilton Glass Co.
of Dalton. Partners are still needed. For more information, e-mail BoyntonLions@gmail.com or call Ringgold Main Street Manager Jamie Klementisz at 706- 935-3061.

“Watching fun films has become a summer tradition for families in our community and our partnership with the Lions Club for one summer evening film has brightened faces for eight years,” said Deborah Levin, Lions president, “We are shifting our summer event from the Ringgold Depot to Patriot Hall.”

The film stars Shawn Mendes, Javier Bardem, Constance Wu, Winslow Fegley and others, and follows a family moving to New York City where their son befriends a singing crocodile.

“What we do in the community isn't possible without the support of people attending fundraising events like this one, and all the great partners who support what we do," Ms. Levin said.

Boynton Lions Vision committee chair Johnny Long said Lions set their sights on vision. “The gift of sight means so much and for about $100, thanks to our local optometrist partner we can help someone see well again,” he said. "Our summer event will help us do many of our community projects including vision.”

“We were hoping to have at least 15 event partners to step forward,” Boynton Lions Club Treasurer Randall Franks said. “There is still time to help by being a partner whether you have a business or are an individual. There will be an opportunity for attendees to donate to the cause or donate your old glasses to be recycled.”

“In Catoosa County there are people that need help to improve their lives by just being able to read clearly, drive safely, and enjoy what is around them with greater clarity," said Ms. Levin said. "You can help us change people’s lives. Help us give the gift of sight.”
