James “Jaye” Wesley Norris II

James “Jaye” Wesley Norris II, 40, of Chattanooga, passed away on Friday, June 20, 2025.

Born in Chattanooga, he completed his high school equivalent diploma at Chattanooga State Community College and further completed an associate’s degree in information systems from ITT Technical Institute of Chattanooga. He was an employee of Southeastern Salvage where he worked as a material handler, and an employee of Norris Tree Service as an equipment operator.

He loved skateboarding, snowboarding, fast cars, and loud music. He always enjoyed and expressed the beauty of nature. He was a natural humanitarian. His goal was to fix and help others. He loved God and was never shy in expressing his beliefs. He was always in tune with current events. He was of Baptist faith.

He is survived by his parents, James Wesley Norris Sr. and Clara Etta Heatherly Norris. The respect and love for his parents was beyond any expectations. His three children, Matthew Christian Norris, Taylen Oliver, and Penelope Grace Norris were loved to his best ability. The love of his life, Lauren Elizabeth Thomas, brought much happiness to his life.

The family will receive friends 4-6 p.m. on Monday, June 30. Immediate family may arrive at 3:30 p.m. for a private viewing at the funeral home. Funeral services will follow visitation in the chapel; officiating will be Pastor Ernie Reno. The burial will be held on Tuesday, July 1, at 11:30 a.m., at Linary Cemetery in Crossville, Tn.
