The City of Red Bank celebrated its 70th anniversary by hosting an event for the community on Saturday. The city showcased the people, organizations, and services that make Red Bank a great place to live, work, and connect.
The 70th Anniversary event took place from 12-5 p.m. at the Red Bank City Park, at 3817 Redding Road. The focus of the event was on community engagement - providing a space for city departments, nonprofits, community organizations, churches, and schools sharing how their organization contributes and serves Red Bank as well as providing fun interactive booths with residents in a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere.
The day began with the MoonPie Move 5K and 10k races, fun and festive races with a Moon Pie twist. The Red Bank Police Department, Fire Department, and Public Works Department had their trucks on display for the community to see and for kids to interact with. Each city department featured fun, interactive booths with various yard games and giveaways to celebrate the 70th anniversary.
In addition to live entertainment throughout the day, White Oak Bike Coop, a nonprofit organization dedicated to facilitating access to bicycles and promoting bicycle safety, gave away 70 bikes to kids. The Coop also provided free helmets for kids and free tune-ups for kids’ bikes.
