Parkridge East Hospital announces a new laborist program with 24/7 coverage by on-site obstetric hospitalists and certified nurse-midwives. The new program expands the hospital’s comprehensive women’s health services, reinforcing its commitment to high-quality, personalized care for families in the greater Chattanooga area, said officials.
“Every woman’s birth journey is unique, and we’re proud to offer more options to support their vision for that experience,” said Caroline Burris, chief executive officer of Parkridge East Hospital. “This program enhances our ability to deliver safe, compassionate and individualized care for our patients.”
Launching July 16, the program will provide labor and delivery patients with a seamless, team-based approach to prenatal, intrapartum and postpartum care around the clock. The collaboration between obstetric hospitalists and certified nurse-midwives will bring high-acuity support and personalized attention throughout each phase of the birthing experience.
As part of its continued investment in women’s health, Parkridge East offers a suite-style birthing environment designed for comfort. Spacious labor and delivery rooms, calming amenities and dedicated postpartum support services contribute to a setting that is supportive and serene, said officials.
The laborist program complements the hospital’s existing suite of services, including minimally invasive robotic surgery for gynecological procedures and 3D mammography with artificial intelligence for early and accurate breast cancer detection.
