In his June 22 editorial in the Times Free Press on “The Supreme Court’s Cowardly Ruling on Tennessee’s Anti-Trans Law,” Ben Sessoms uncritically cites statistics from the Trevor Project. In fact, he admits in citing them that the Trevor Project “advocates for trans children.”
Rather than using information provided by a group which self-identifies as an advocate, why not use the conclusions drawn by the Cass Report, the exhaustive, multi-year report on transgender “therapy” commissioned by the British government?
The answer, of course, is that the unbiased, rigorous Cass Report concluded that there is no good evidence for transitioning kids and led the UK and other European countries to ban prescribing puberty blockers to those under 18.
But Mr. Sessoms can’t go against the transgender religion, part of his woke ideology; that would endanger the multi-billion-dollar industry that has developed around “transing” children. It is odd that Mr. Sessoms, who has such a dislike for business in general, would be so accommodating of this one.
