Margaret Louise Givens
Margaret Louise Givens, 80, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 16, 2025.
She was born in Chattanooga on Feb. 1, 1945, to the late Easter Buyck Jordan and Zachary Neely.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James “Black” Givens; her brothers, Alex Benson, Willie Benson, and Danny Neely; and her sister, Terry Anderson.
She leaves to cherish her memory her sister, Hollis Jacoway; her devoted companion, Edward Blanton Jr.; and her children: Robert Lee Jones Jr., Michael Jones (Chattanooga), Fredrick Jones (Montgomery, AL), and Marnita (Jesse) Foster (Chattanooga). Her grandchildren also survive her: Jessyca Foster, Sydney Jones, Taylor Jones, Malcolm Jones, Robert Robinson, Demetrius Robinson, Nikita Jones, Tawanda Jones, Fredrick Jones Jr., Akurya Jones, and Michael Jones Jr., all of Chattanooga.
She will be lovingly remembered by her nieces, Tonja Fortson, Ebony Jacoway, and Patricia Tatum; her cousins Wanda Brown and Vivian Brown; Edward’s daughters, Nita Cox and Jackie Graham; and his granddaughter, Whitney Graham. Margaret also leaves behind a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and cherished friends.
The body will lie in state at the funeral home beginning at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 25, followed by a graveside service at 1:30 p.m. at Chattanooga National Cemetery
