Jerry Elbert Bowman, 91, of Chickamauga, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2025, surrounded by family.

He was born on Dec. 26, 1933, in Chattanooga. He worked in maintenance for Modern Maid for 25 years and retired from DM Steward. He was a marine and stationed in Parris Island. He attended Way of the Cross Baptist Church and was a family man who had a joy for life and a laugh that could fill a room. Overall, he was a hard worker who enjoyed cutting the grass, washing cars, and never left anything undone.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Geneva Bowman; son Jerry Chris Bowman; daughter Sherrie Renae Holcomb; and brothers-in-law, Ricky Daniel and David Gibson.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Pasty Bowman; children, Debbie (Troy) Simerley, Ricky (Patricia) Bowman, Tammy (Chris) Durham; special sister-in-law, Wanda Culver; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews; siblings, Barbara Daniel, Faye Gibson, Terry (Cheryl) Bowman; son-in-law, Ricky Holcomb; daughter-in-law, Diane Bowman; and special friend, Charles Kilgore.

The family will receive friends Saturday, July 5, from 1-4 p.m. at Lane Funeral Home and Crematory South Crest Chapel.

A Celebration of Life will be held following the visitation at 4 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home at 833 Chickamauga Avenue, Rossville, Ga. 30741.
