Glenna Jeanette Oakes, 90, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2025.

She was born in Bledsoe County, Tn., on July 10, 1934. Jeanette graduated from Bledsoe County High School and was employed by American Lava/3M for 42 years.

Jeanette was preceded in death by her mother and father, Jacob Glenn Smith and Martha Mahala Smith; brothers and sisters, Elvie Cameron, J.D. Smith, William (Bud) Smith, Garland (Jumpy) Smith, Roland Smith, Merle Roberson, and Helen Johnson.

Jeanette is survived by her daughter, Kim Hartline; son, Jeff (Davette) Oakes; and grandchildren, Will and Matt Oakes.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 4, at 1 p.m. CDT in the funeral home chapel with Brother T.A. Smith officiating. Burial will be in Collier.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 4, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. CDT.

The family would like to thank the staff at Soddy Daisy Healthcare Center for all the extraordinary care Jeanette received while she was there.
