Patricia L. Wright went home to the Lord peacefully on June 1, 2025 with family around her. Pat was 90 years old.

She was a retired registered nurse and worked most recently at Memorial Hospital.

A native of Cairo, Illinois, she lived in Cairo during her grade school years, then moved to St. Louis, Missouri for her high school years.

An honor student at Rosati Kain High School, she was a member of the national Girls State organization, and the Missouri representative at a national meeting in Washington, D. C., where she was a member of a group invited to tea with President Harry Truman in the White House rose garden.

She received her nursing degree from Cleveland State Community College and combined her nursing career with many years of volunteer activities. The volunteer years include an active role with the Ladies of Charity Resale Store, now on Rossville Boulevard, which provides funds for medical care and other expenses for the needy. Her passion was a program she managed that prepares layettes decorated and filled with items for newborns for the ministry.

Additional volunteer work included Volunteers in Medicine, and the organizer and co-chairman of the parish nurse committee of St. Stephen Catholic Church, where she was a longtime member and participant in the liturgy staff. The parish nurse activity is an area wide program sponsored by Memorial Hospital which includes churches of all denominations.

She is predeceased by her first husband of 19 years, Wilburn Leon Lane; her second husband of 30 years, James (Jake) T. Wright; her stepson, Kenneth R. Wright; and her stepdaughter, Theresa G. Wright. She is survived by her children Kevin Lane of Sterrett, AL; Kimberly Mumm of Chattanooga; and John Courtney Lane of Chattanooga; six grandchildren, one step grandchild, and several great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. on Wednesday at Lane Funeral Home on Ashland Terrace. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at St. Stephan Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Stephens Catholic Church, Hearth Hospice of Chattanooga or Ladies of Charity.

Arrangements entrusted to Lane Funeral Home, 601 Ashland Terrace, Chattanooga, TN 37415, (423) 877-3524, lanefh.com.
