Virginia C. Johnston
Virginia C. Johnston, 98, of Chattanooga, passed away on Friday, July 11, 2025.
A lifelong resident of Chattanooga, Mrs. Johnston was retired from TVA after more than 25 years of service.
She was a member of Brainerd Baptist Church and also the Sweet Adelines.
An avid painter, she enjoyed many years of traveling.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Violet Cobleigh; daughter, Carol Johnston; sisters, Genevieve Cox, Frances Gray; and brother, Henry Cobleigh.
Mrs. Johnston is survived by her grandchildren, Chrissie Jackson, Ringgold, Amanda (Eric) Millians, Rossville, and James (Dia) Williams, Rossville; many great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; special nephews, Martin Cox and Wayne Gray; niece, Karen Gray, along with many other nieces & nephews.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, July 18, at 2 p.m. at Geenwood Cemetery with Rev. Steve Rowland officiating. Pallbearers will be James Williams, Hunter Raines, Dexter Scudgins, Levi Scudgins, Alex Jackson, and Timmy Taylor.
