Police Respond To Drug Overdose - And Other East Ridge Police Calls

25-007842 – 5700 BLK Ringgold Road – Drug Overdose
Employees reported a female was unconscious with a possible drug overdose in the store restroom. Police responded and found the subject lying on the floor unresponsive and not breathing. Police, Fire, and EMS personnel performed lifesaving measures, and the party was transported to the hospital for emergency medical care. A male was seen with the subject in the store but fled the area when the woman went unconscious. The on-call CID Detective responded, and the incident is part of an-going investigation.

Day Shift July 25: A Squad

25-007814 – 4100 BLK Eastway Terrace – Well Being Check
Police were called to check the well-being of a family. Earlier in the morning a vehicle struck a power pole, and their house was without power. A concerned neighbor requested police check on them; all was well.

25-007828 – 3900 BLK Ringgold Road – Theft
Police met the owner of the business on a reported theft. An unknown female had entered the business lobby and stole a canister of beef tallow before leaving the property.

25-007831 – 3500 BLK Ringgold Road – Disorder
Police were called after a customer and staff got into an argument over repossessed wheels and tires. Prior to police arrival the irate customer left. ERPD located the car heading north on S Germantown Road. Officers were able to initiate a traffic stop at 100 Glenwood Drive. The passenger told police he was upset the wheels were repossessed but left before anyone got
physical. He was notified that the business wanted him trespassed from the location. Proximity Restriction #25-000138

25-007812 – 1400 BLK Mana Lane – Theft
A caller reported the expiration sticker was stolen from her vehicle. A report has been completed.

25-007818 – 1500 BLK Tombras Avenue – Traffic Stop/Arrest
A man was taken into custody for Driving on Revoked for DUI during a traffic stop at this location.

25-007829 – 700 BLK Belvoir Avenue – Property Damage
The caller reported striking an ice chest that had fallen from the back of a truck in front of him, causing damage to his vehicle. A report has been completed.

25-007820 – 3200 BLK Gleason Drive - Suspicious Person
The reporting reported that around 11:40 a.m., while walking around her apartment complex, she was approached by a male (approx. 5'8"-5'10", in his 20s, medium build, with knotted dreads) who started a conversation. She ended the interaction and returned to her apartment. Before entering, she noticed the man watching her from downstairs. After locking her door, she heard the doorknob being turned and the door slightly pushed, though she wasn’t sure if it was the wind or an attempted entry. She requested the incident be documented in case of future occurrences.

25-007816 – 4200 BLK Ringgold Road - Theft
A man informed the police that his bicycle was stolen when he left it unsecured in front of the gas station. He stated that his bicycle was a blue Fuji 8-speed and was last seen around 10 a.m. Video surveillance showed a male in a blue shirt and black pants taking the bike and heading eastbound on Ringgold Road. No suspect has been identified.

25-007830 – 1600 BLK Castleberry Avenue - Disorder/Assault
Police responded to a report from an anonymous caller about a fight. Upon arrival, officers found a male with visible cuts and bruises. A female was also present and sitting inside a vehicle. Both individuals were uncooperative with the investigation. The man’s mother provided video footage of the incident and expressed her intent to press charges against those who entered her residence. Warrants are being pursued for the suspects, pending positive identification.

Night Shift July 25: C Squad

25-007834 – 100 BLK Kingwood Drive – Disorder
Police responded to a verbal disorder involving three individuals at this address. After the subjects were separated, the residents formally trespassed a party from their home. In turn, that party trespassed them from her nearby home. All the individuals understood the trespass warnings and agreed to return to their respective homes. Proximity Restrictions 25-000140, 25-000141, and 25-000142.

25-007836 – 3400 BLK Lisa Drive – Suspicious Activity
An anonymous caller reported hearing at least eight gunshots near her home. Police responded to the location and checked the neighboring areas. Officers did not locate any signs or evidence of gunfire.

25-007837 – 6600 BLK Ringgold Rd – Motor Vehicle Crash / Assault
Police responded to a crash without injuries on Ringgold Road. The incident was upgraded to an Assault in Progress involving two women. On scene, officers determined that one was upset and struck the other which caused her to lose her balance and fall. The suspect was issued a Misdemeanor Citation for Simple Assault and released from the scene. A crash report was also
completed for the incident.

25-007841 – 700 BLK S. Seminole Drive – Domestic Disorder
Police responded to an active Domestic Disorder at this location. Officers determined that brothers had a verbal argument that escalated into a physical altercation. Due to conflicting statements and a lack of physical evidence, the primary aggressor could not be determined. No charges were filed and one of the brothers agreed to leave for the evening.

25-007844 – 600 BLK Camp Jordan Parkway – Citizen Assist
A woman called 911 nine separate times to request assistance after she locked herself out of her car. She also reported her dog was in the vehicle. Police spoke with her and found she had several glasses of wine before making the phone calls. East Ridge Fire was able to safely remove the dog from the vehicle. Officers warned her concerning the misuse of 911 and animal safety. She called Lyft for a ride home and departed the area with her dog.

25-007846 – 400 BLK Camp Jordan Pkwy – Traumatic Injury
Police responded to this location following the report that a juvenile was struck in the head with a golf club. After a short investigation, it was determined the incident was accidental. Police provided basic first aid care until the juvenile’s parents transported her to the Emergency Room.

25-007848 – 4214 Ringgold Road – Assist Other Agency
While investigating a drug overdose, Police found a person of interest named had an active warrant through Dekalb County, Alabama. She was taken into custody and transported to the Hamilton County Jail to await extradition.

25-007851 – 6500 BLK Ringgold Road – Suspicious Activity / Assist Other Agency
Police observed two individuals with a moped in front of the hotel. The moped matched an earlier report of a vehicle speeding near South Terrace. While investigating the situation, officers determined one of the individuals had several warrants through the Hamilton County Sessions
Court. She was taken into custody and transported to Hamilton County Jail.

25-007852 – 5700 BLK Ringgold Road – Intoxicated Person / Arrest
Police observed two vehicles sitting on the shoulder of the road. The driver of one vehicle reported the other was driving erratically. Officers stopped the other vehicle as it attempted to leave and identified the driver. Police quickly determined that he was highly intoxicated and took him into custody. The suspect was transported to the Hamilton County Jail and charged with Driving
Under the Influence and Driving without a License.

25-007854 – 5300 BLK Spriggs Street – Well Being Check
A party called a Crisis Line to report an attempted suicide originally believed to be in Chattanooga. She was later located at this address and was transported for a mental health evaluation.

25-007861 – 3600 BLK Ringgold Road – Theft
Police responded to this location on reports of an employee stealing food by scanning cheaper food items. The suspect was found to have committed theft on four separate occasions, on four separate dates. She was issued four Misdemeanor Citations in Lieu of Arrest utilizing the original case number as well as 25-007862, 25-007863, and 25-007864.

25-007831 – 800 BLK S. Germantown Road - Field Interview
Police contacted a party who was observed holding himself up by a power pole. The man was just out for a walk and stopped by the pole after an ant bit him. He was checked for warrants and sent on his way. FI #25-000102

25-007856 – 3100 BLK Block Ringgold Road - Citizen Assist
Police contacted a woman walking barefoot on the westside of the Bachman Tunnels who matched the description of a person suspected of shoplifting the previous day. Pending further investigation warrants will be sought for theft. She was given a courtesy ride to the 11th Street Kitchen. FI #25-000103

25-007865 – 20 BLK Sheridan Road – Theft
Police spoke with a party who said a neighborhood kid took two kittens from underneath his front porch. Police spoke with the neighbor who said they thought the cat was stray and did take it. He said there was only one kitten and had not seen any additional felines under the porch. The man turned the kitten over to the police who returned it to the owner.

25-007860 – 1500 BLK Lockhart Lane – Theft-
Police spoke with a man who advised a package had been stolen from the steps of his property. He stated he did not know who took the package but made comments that it may be a transient male who passes through his property frequently.

25-007867 – 6500 BLK Ringgold Road - Disorder/Trespass
Police were requested to trespass both two men. Both parties were given trespass warnings and were told to retrieve their items and leave the area.

25-007869 – 6100 BLK Marietta Street - Disorder
Police responded to a caller who reported that her relatives were being verbally abusive. To distance herself from the situation, she had locked herself in the restroom. Upon arrival, officers separated the individuals involved. It was confirmed that no physical altercation had occurred. The RP requested to leave the premises and was given a courtesy ride to a friend’s house. No further incidents were reported.

25-007866 – 800 BLK Germantown Road - Well-being check
Police were dispatched to this location on reports of a male sitting on the grass not moving. On arrival, police spoke with the man. He advised that he and his mother got into a verbal altercation. The man left the residence and was attempting to find a ride. Police checked the party for warrants and sent him on his way.

25-007868 – 100 BLK Bales Avenue - Citizen Assist -
Police were dispatched to this location at the request of a citizen who’s powered wheelchair ran out of battery. Officers assisted the gentleman home by pushing him to his residence located on Whitehead Ave.

Night Shift July 26: C Squad

25-007877 – 1400 BLK Mack Smith Road – Harassment
Police responded to a Harassment complaint at the hotel. The reporting party had received harassing and threatening messages from two unknown individuals. She reported the suspects identified themselves, but she did not know their true identities. She further stated the suspects threatened to deliver explosive devices through the mail and made threats towards her
family. The investigation is on-going, and the suspects have not been identified.

25-007878 – 900 BLK Belvoir Avenue – Harassment
The reporting party stated his neighbor wrote two letters against him and his dogs in the past six months. The disgruntled neighbor sent the letters to East Ridge Animal Control Services and specifically complained about the reporting party’s barking dogs. Police found that the Animal Control Service Officers were aware of the situation and had already started to address the
issue.

25-007879 – 6000 BLK Ringgold Road – Suspicious Person
Police responded to several complaints of a male standing on the sidewalk with a cross and yelling at people about sin. Police located the individual and identified him. The party stated he was compelled to spread his religious views and found the intersection to be a good location. The officers recognized that he could exercise his First Amendment rights on the public sidewalk but suggested he refrain from yelling at individuals concerning their individual sins. He understood the advice and stated he would return the following day.

25-007880 – 1500 BLK Karwil Lane – Disorder
Police responded to a disorder in the front yard of an apartment building. Officers found two parties engaged in a verbal argument, but no physical altercation was observed. One admitted to picking up a brick for intimidation but said he did not threaten to hit the other. After speaking with Police, the two individuals agreed to separate for the night and return to their individual homes. Prosecution was declined.

25-007882 – 1300 BLK San Hsi Drive – Burglary in Progress
Police responded to the report of a man inside this residence without permission. Officers searched the house at the request of the homeowner. Police did not locate any unwanted people and did not locate any signs of forced entry.

25-007889 – 3700 BLK Connelly Lane – Suspicious Activity
While conducting a neighborhood patrol, Police observed an unknown male, dressed in dark clothing, run through a yard. Additional units responded to the location but were unable to locate the suspect. ERPD did not receive any reports of thefts or break-ins in the area.

25-007891 – 800 BLK Hutcheson Avenue – Traffic Stop / Assist Other Agency
Following a traffic stop, a man was taken into custody for an active warrant through the City of Red Bank. The charge on the arrest warrant was Simple Assault. He was transported to the Hamilton County Jail without incident.

25-007892 – 10 BLK Stadium Way – Warrant Service.
Stadium security advised Police that a wanted person from a previous incident was in the stands. Officers arrived on scene and took the subject into custody for two active arrest warrants. The charges on the warrants were Assault and Disorderly Conduct. He was transported to Hamilton County Jail without incident

Day Shift July 27: A Squad

NO NUMBER – 300 BLK Camp Jordan Parkway – Well Being Check
An Officer patrolled the area of the gravel lot and observed what was suspected to be a person hunched over suffering a medical emergency. Upon closer inspection, the Officer found it was just a trash can.

25-007898 – 1000 BLK Hurst Street – Theft
Police were dispatched to this address to speak with the complainant who advised his red Yard Machine push mower had been stolen from his carport. He stated he last saw the mower at 3 p.m. on July 26 and observed it was gone at 10:22 this morning.

25-007904 – 6600 BLK Ringgold Road – Broken Down Auto
Police were flagged down by a motorist who had broken down in the number two lane heading east on Ringgold Rd. Police assisted the motorist out of the roadway without incident.

25-007895 – 3900 BLK Ringgold Road – Theft
Police responded on a reported theft. Officers spoke with a man who said an acquaintance known only as "Charles" drove him to the store to get a couple drinks. When he emerged from the store, the black Hyundai Elantra was seen driving eastbound on Ringgold Road. The victim reported that his blue drawstring bag containing his Tn. ID, Samsung A16 phone and $40 cash was in the vehicle. The man was given a courtesy ride to Rossville Boulevard.

25-007900 – 700 BLK Germantown Circle – Back Other

Tampa PD requested ERPD to attempt to locate a party, who owns a semi-truck, currently parked in Tampa, Fl. that has been running unoccupied for four days. Negative contact was made at Germantown Garden Apartments. A previous address at Summit Apartments was also checked. The man’s current Tn. DL lists an address in Soddy Daisy. SDPD was notified to attempt to make contact. The subject of the checks later called and spoke with ERPD. He advised TPD contacted him in Tampa while visiting family in the area.

25-007894 – 300 BLK Camp Jordan Parkway – Narcotics Violation
A woman was issued a Misdemeanor Citation in Lieu of Arrest for Simple Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

25-007903 – 1500 BLK Karwill Lane– Miscellaneous Complaint
A woman called in and expressed fear that an altercation would arise once her roommate returned home. She did not want police to respond to her residence, and she was advised to call dispatch if needed.

Night Shift July 27: C Squad

25-007912 – 900 BLK Belvoir Hills Drive – Noise complaint
Police responded to a noise complaint at this residence. Officers heard loud music and found the homeowner was cleaning his carport. The homeowner agreed to turn down the music for the evening.

25-007913 – 3700 BLK Ringgold Road – Disorder
Police observed two men arguing in the parking lot of a restaurant. Officers approached the individuals and de-escalated the situation. No evidence of an assault was observed. Both were checked for warrants and sent on their way.

25-007914 – 1400 BLK St Thomas Street – Civil Matter
A woman reported several issues and disagreements with motel staff. Notably, she stated that the blinds in her hotel room fell and struck her on the head on July 15. She also felt the hotel staff had been harassing her since the incident to make her leave. A few hours later, the woman called
the Hamilton County Dispatch and requested Police assistance with her phone. She stated someone had put a snake program in her phone and the motel staff were listening to her conversations. Officers checked her phone and found it was most likely an unrelated internet advertisement.

25-007917 – 3400 BLK Lisa Drive– Well-Being Check
An anonymous person requested a well-being check. The anonymous person stated that he recently spoke with the subject over the phone and it sounded like he was being held hostage by another person. Police responded to the apartment and found that the party was not at the location. Police eventually located the man at a residence on Signal Mountain and determined he was not
in any type of distress.

Day Shift July 28: B Squad

25-007903-1700 BLK Keeble Street-Commercial Building Fire
Police responded with East Ridge Fire to the listed address for an electrical fire. Police assisted with traffic control until East Ridge Fire cleared the scene.

25-007921 – 700 BLK Belvoir Ave- Disorder Prevention
The caller requested police assistance in enforcing a child custody order involving her children’s father. Officers responded and explained the terms of the signed court order to the man and his wife. He was advised that any disputes or concerns regarding the order should be addressed through the appropriate legal channels by petitioning the court for modification.

25-007930 – 3500 BLK Bennett Road - Domestic Disorder
Patrolling officers were flagged down by a road crew working in the area, who reported observing a male and a female in a possible physical altercation. According to one of the crew, they observed a man chasing a woman across the street and then re-enter a residence. On arrival at the residence, police were greeted by the subject and several family members at the front door of the home. Initially, he denied any event occurring between the female, later identified as his sister, and himself but when advised about witnesses observing the disorder, he admitted to engaging in an argument
with her over money. When police inquired about her location, the parties at the home simply claimed her mother transported her to another location. Police attempted to contact the woman with a phone number on file; however, she did not answer.

25-007934 – 3400 BLK Betty Lane - Miscellaneous
Police spoke with the owner of this property concerning her tenants having to park on the street while repairs were being made on the property. An officer advised the caller of the correct parking procedures and to avoid blocking any driveways.

25-007935-1500 BLK S Smith Street-Suspicious Person
Police were dispatched to the area around the 1500 block of South Smith Street for a male in an exterminator's uniform walking around the neighborhood. The individual was gone prior to police arrival.

Night Shift July 28: D Squad

25-007938 – 4214 Ringgold Road – Warrant Service
A man was served a warrant out of East Ridge for Petition to Revoke (Possession of Methamphetamine) while in custody at the Hamilton County Jail.

25-007939-1300 BLK Laredo Ave. - Unknown Trouble
911 received a call and could hear a female yelling in the background before the phone hung up. On scene, it was determined that the mother had called in because her juvenile son was experiencing a mental health episode. Police spoke with the juvenile and were able to calm him down. The juvenile agreed to return inside the residence for the evening.

25-007940 – 3200 BLK Gleason Drive – Suspicious Person
A resident reported a man was seen breaking into an old Chevy van with a screwdriver. Police identified the man as the registered owner. He told police he was trying to fix the door handle.

25-007941 – 5000 BLK Newport Drive – Harassment
A party reported that her ex-boyfriend, who has a temporary protective order, was harassing her by driving by her home and had recently sent her something in the mail using a different name. Police were unable to substantiate any allegations of harassment.

25-007943-1700 BLK John Ross Rd- Well-being Check
A concerned father called police after his children called him and stated their mother was playing loud music and was intoxicated. Police spoke with the children and the mother; the children advised they were ok, and police observed no indications of intoxication in the mother.

25-007944- 600 BLK S Seminole Drive- Suspicious Vehicle/Vehicle Tow
Police observed a black Jeep Wrangler parked partially in a driveway and partially in the roadway on South Seminole Dr. The vehicle was creating a road hazard. After many failed attempts to contact the residents at the home and the registered owner, the vehicle was towed.
