Theresa Walsh Burt, 58, died on Sunday, August 10, 2025.

Theresa was born in Chattanooga on July 12, 1967, and lived most of her life in Rossville.

She was preceded by her parents, Sue Ellen Chastain Walsh and Richard J. Walsh, and her former husband, Wally Burt.

She is survived by her son, Joseph Burt of Chattanooga and her daughter Emily Burt of Huntsville, Al., her stepmother, Martha (Buster) Raymer of Chattanooga, along with several aunts, uncles, cousins and lots of friends. We are especially grateful for the love and friendship of her friends Annelle Hammond and Mindy Stepp.

Theresa graduated from Rossville High School in 1985 with honors and from the University of Georgia in 1989, also with honors and a degree in accounting. During her school years, she was on the “Blue Angels” softball team with her Dad, Dick, as her coach. They won many tournaments and had lots of fun times while traveling with the team.

After graduation from Georgia, she became a CPA and worked with various accounting firms until she started her own medical billing company. Later she worked for several years in the accounting department at Ruby Falls. Recently she moved to the Severville area where she lived in Kodak and discovered her “dream job” in the cash management area of the accounting department at Kelvion Products, Inc. in Knoxville.

Theresa was a huge Georgia Bulldog fan and attended games all the time. She loved going to the beach and traveling, especially with her children to Disney World and Universal Studios. She was passionate about her dogs and they provided many years of companionship and enjoyment. She was of the Catholic faith, which sustained her with unwavering hope and comfort throughout her life.
