Born on March 28, 1941, in Indiana to William and Laverne Wilson, Phyllis moved to California during her early years before making her home in Georgia. Throughout her life, she was a devoted wife, mother, and Nana whose greatest joy came from being in the presence of her family. She often reminded those around her that she was “rich in family,” and her unwavering love served as the glue that held them all together.

A proud Christian, Phyllis lived her life grounded in the teachings of Jesus. She shared her faith not only with her family but also with the countless students whose lives she touched during her years as a paraprofessional at Rossville High School and Ridgeland High School. To her, students were more than pupils. They were cherished members of her extended family.
Phyllis had a deep love for the outdoors and wildlife, often finding peace and joy in nature. She will be remembered for her kindness, strength, and unshakable devotion to those she loved. Her legacy is etched in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
