George William Llewellyn, 82, of Rossville, Georgia passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 2, 2025.

He was born on Jan. 4, 1943, in Athens, Tn., and grew up in Chattanooga. From a young age, George displayed a remarkable talent for mechanics, eventually becoming known as a master of his craft. Over the years, he founded three successful businesses: Llewellyn Auto Specialists, Salem Auto Parts, and Salem Recycling.

His professional life reflected his dedication, ingenuity, and love of working with his hands. George’s influence extended beyond the garage—he was a mentor, a problem-solver, and a source of strength for those who knew him.

George enjoyed hunting, fishing, music, drag racing, and following NASCAR. He was a member of Calvary Church of God, where he found community and faith throughout his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Grace Llewellyn; his sister, Joan Llewellyn; his brother, John Llewellyn; his daughter, Gwendolyn Llewellyn; and his son, George William Llewellyn Jr.

Left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife of 63 years, Linda Llewellyn; four children, Joseph (Deborah) Llewellyn, Stacy (Stephen) Childers, Shannon (Rick) Salisbury, and Douglas Llewellyn; 11 grandchildren, Samuel, Shawn, Stephanie, Sandra, Matt, Josh, Christopher, William, Mallory, Addison, and Peyton; and eleven great-grandchildren, Lyric, Liam, Colton, McKenzie, Riley, Ava, Alora, Levi, Lexi, Brooklyn, and Avrian.

He is also survived by five siblings: Jerry (Judy) Llewellyn, Jimmy (Bertie) Llewellyn, Jean (Rocky) Leonhart, Judy (JW) Johnson, and Diane Phifer—as well as many nieces, nephews and other loving family members and dear friends.
