Quentin “Wendell” Watson, Jr., 78, passed away on August 8, 2025, at the Hospice Care Center in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
He was born on April 25, 1947, in Rockwood, Tn., to the late Quentin Wendell Watson Sr. and Elizabeth Watson.
Wendell proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Germany. His dedication to service extended beyond the military through his lifelong work and commitment to his community.
He was a devoted member of Pleasant Dale Baptist Church in Evensville, Tennessee. Well known and highly respected throughout the area, Wendell owned and operated Wendell Watson Garage and Towing, where he became a familiar and trusted presence for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Timothy Watson; his brother, Robert Eddie Watson; and his sister, Sharon Kay Melton.
Wendell is survived by his loving wife, Judy Watson; his son, David Allen Watson; and his brother, William “Tip” Tipton Watson.
He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren: Dylan (Lynsey) Watson, Braden Watson, Ashton Dannel, and Kaylin Odum; as well as great-grandchildren: Cheyenne Ovitt, Skylan Ovitt, Brylee Dannel, Tinley Odum, and Ella Odum.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 13, at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Coulter Garrison Funeral Home, with Bro. Clyde Fitzgerald officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the time of service.
Wendell will be laid to rest at Smyrna Cemetery in Evensville, Tn.
