Planning Commission Recommends Denial For 4-story Hotel Across From Grace Baptist

The Planning Commission has recommended denial for rezoning for a hotel across from Grace Baptist Church and School in East Brainerd. Neighbors said the project would bring additional traffic, light pollution and transients as well as possible water runoff. Allen Jones of Stone Creek Consulting said the hotel would only bring in some 50 cars per day, whereas a townhouse project under current zoning would be 150 a day. He said some 50-75 townhomes could go in at the 4.7-acre site. ... more
