Signal Mountain teammates battled tooth-and-nail for the Sneds Tour's Open at Ooltewah over the weekend. Senior Benji Lewis and junior Tucker Cruise both fired 2-under-par 70s on the Ooltewah Club course Saturday and were just one shot apart in Sunday's final 18 holes. Firing a total of seven birdies and 30 pars in the event, Lewis claimed the title with a 2-over 74, surviving a bogey on the final hole that opened the door for a possible tie. Pitchers Dominate As Lookouts Top First Place Barons For Third Straight Time

For the second time in three games the Chattanooga Lookouts pitching staff shutout the first place Birmingham Barons with a 1-0 victory on Sunday night to complete the series. After losing the first three games of the series the Lookouts bounced back to win the final three. On Sunday starting pitcher Jared Lyons was the hero as he went six scoreless innings allowing five hits and striking out four. He moves to 4-5 on the year with the win.
