Harter, Soddy Daisy Claim State Golf Title

After leading by one stroke on Tuesday, Amanda Harter shot a 70 on the final day of competition to win the 2000 Class AAA girls golf title at Old Fort Golf Course. Her two day total of 141 combined with teammate Ashley Harris’ fifth place score of 148 gave Soddy Daisy the their first Class AAA girls’ golf title.

Laura McCaslin of Cookeville shot a 145 (72-73) to finish four strokes behind Harter. This is her second consecutive runner-up finish. She finished seven strokes behind Courtney Wood of Brentwood in 1999.

Kristin Lynch of Tullahoma shot a 146 (72-74) to finish in third. Holly Cantwell of Morristown West had a two-day total of 147 to give her a fourth place finish. She combined with teammate Natasha Bolton’s score of 161 to give Morristown West runner-up in team competition.
