Richard Edward Colquitt Sr., 85, of East Ridge, died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2001, at his home.
Mr. Colquitt was a member of the East Ridge Church of God and had been a member of the Church of God since 1939. He was retired from Southern Railroad after 40 years of service as a machinist.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Pirkle Colquitt; one daughter and son-in-law, Jane Colquitt Thornton and Manning Thornton, Birmingham, Ala.; one son and daughter-in-law, Rusty Colquitt and Linda Akers Colquitt, Chattanooga; five grandchildren, Rebecca Anne Thornton, Christina Renee Colquitt, Jonathan Manning Thornton, John Duke Colquitt and Mary Kathrine Colquitt; two nieces; and one nephew.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. on Monday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Manning Thornton and the Rev. Terry Harris officiating.
Interment will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 4-9 p.m. on Sunday and then from 12-1 p.m. on Monday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home on Moore Road.
