Cotter, William James Jr.

William James Cotter Jr. of Signal Mountain died Monday, July 29, 2002, at home.

He was the son of the late William James Cotter Sr. and Myrtle Seay Cotter. A lifelong resident of Chattanooga, Mr. Cotter owned and operated Zero Products and Cotter Hardware. He attended Notre Dame High School and the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. He was a member of Signal Mountain Golf and Country Club, where he was an avid golfer.

Mr. Cotter was preceded in death by his wife, Ada Ruth Smith Cotter; his sisters, Wilma Lee Cotter Braidwood, Kathryn Cotter Turner, Evelyn Cotter and Mildred Cotter Hutson; and his brothers, John Ernest Cotter and Norman Bernard Cotter.

Survivors include his two sons, William J. Cotter III, Signal Mountain and Michael P. Cotter, Denver; and two grandsons, Matthew and Garrett Cotter of Colorado Springs.

There will be no visitation.

A private burial service will be held at Chattanooga Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga.
