Chattanooga's unit of the Ingram Group public relations firm has added TV's Melydia Clewell and also gotten new offices.
Melydia - who is now Melydia Clewell Beagles - joins Robin Derryberry in the firm that was started in Nashville by Tom Ingram and also has branches in Memphis and Knoxville.
Melydia says, "In the TV business you always have a front-row seat, but you are just an observer. I was ready for a new adventure where I will be involved in initiating changes and starting programs."
One of her first assignments was helping Family and Children's Services come up with a new name, logo and branding. The agency, that is now in its 125th year, has been rebranded as the Partnership for Families, Children and Adults.
Robin and Melydia helped the agency come up with a colorful new logo, and they helped engineer "the whole transition."
Ingram Group is also heavily involved in some work in the Ocoee area, including the historic train that is set to begin hauling passengers soon.
Melydia is from Bossier, La., and she went to college at Harding University in Searcy, Ark. She was at Channel 9 for 12 years, including long stints on the Good Morning show and as the noon anchor. She also produced news for women segments.
Robin Derryberry, who started the Ingram office here, was chief deputy at Juvenile Court, then was a field representative for Rep. Zach Wamp. Her husband, Andy Derryberry, is chief deputy sheriff.
Ingram Group opened its offices at the Tivoli Centre, but it recently moved to new quarters above Taco Mac at Jack's Alley.
Robin and Melydia, who bill themselves as "the two women with the big hair," got to design the space inside the wide open area.
A faded Cherco Cola sign on one wall will be retained.
Robin says, "I'm so proud to have Melydia on our team. She brings so much media savvy, and her skill sets are second to none."
