Bell Development has broken ground on one of Hamilton county's largest
new residential developments on the farm the firm purchased on Hixson Pike.
It has been named "Stonewall Farms," Jay Bell said.
It is located just prior to the Thrasher Pike/Hixson Pike intersection at the former farm.
Mr. Bell said the community will similar in scope and style to the firm's successful "Belleau Woods" development in East Brainard.
He said contracts have been awarded and work has started on the main sewer lines. Preparations are underway to start the grading of the roads.
The first phase will feature 122 single family lots which should be ready to build on by late summer.
An additional 50 townhome lots will be available soon after this by early fall.
The homes will range in price between $190,000-$250,000.
When finished the development will have over 400 homes.
Mr. Bell said the development will feature the preservation of a natural spring surrounded by a large community recreation area and the construction of a natural buffer between the farm and Hixson Pike.
