The RISE (Rehabilitation,Intervention,Support, and Empowerment) Juvenile Drug Court program proudly celebrated its second graduation ceremony this week, marking a significant milestone in the journey of recovery and growth for four young individuals. With this most recent group, the program has now seen a total of 11 graduates since its inception in December of 2023.
This graduation represents not just a completion of the program, but a powerful symbol of perseverance, accountability, and hope. Family, community members, and local leaders gathered in support of the graduates, underscoring the importance of community involvement in youth rehabilitation and success.
In attendance was County Commissioner Milan Blake, whose presence underscored the county’s continued commitment to supporting alternative justice programs and youth rehabilitation.
Organizers extended a heartfelt thank you to the community members and businesses who made this event even more special:
- Beverly Johnson and Hardee’s for providing dinner
- County Commissioner Scotty Gilbert and Town House Bakery for donating a celebratory cake
- Mayor Gary Davis and the county commission for funding the program
The RISE program continues to serve as a beacon of hope and a model for how juvenile courts can offer accountability with compassion, helping young people turn challenges into opportunities for transformation.
