Driver Found Unconscious, Charged With DUI - And Other East Ridge Police Calls

Day Shift August 12: B Squad

25-008512- 100 BLK BALES AVE- BOLO/ ARREST
Police were called about a reckless driver who was traveling Eastbound down Ringgold Road. A second caller stated that the truck had crashed into a street sign, a mailbox, and a trash can at the location above. Police found the vehicle parked in the front yard of this house, and the driver was unconscious and non-compliant with police orders. He was ultimately taken out of the vehicle
and detained pending further investigation.
It was determined that the driver was under the influence and provided a false name and date of birth. He was charged with DUI 2nd offense, reckless driving, driving without a license, due car, and resisting Stop, Halt, Frisk, and Arrest and transported to the Hamilton County Jail without incident.

25-008514 - 1.9 Interstate S/B - Motor Vehicle Collision
A semi-tractor and trailer lost control and struck the center wall blocking the three southbound lanes of I-75 S/B at the split. Due to the amount of fluids leaking from the vehicle's cab, all lanes of I-24 E/B and I-75 S/B were temporarily shut down while emergency services managed the cleanup.

25-008518-1300 BLK Prater Road-Wires Down
Police assisted with traffic control at the intersection of Spring Creek and Prater Road until EPB was able to clear the roadway of wires damaged by the storms.

25-008527 - 4214 Ringgold Road - Field Interview
Police observed a woman fail to yield to an emergency vehicle with its equipment activated as she walked through the parking lot of the service center. Police contacted her and advised her to yield to police and fire vehicles with activated lights and sirens.

25-008530 – 4214 Ringgold Rd – Warrant Service
Hamilton County Jail called ERPD to get a warrant verified. The subject did have two Alias Capias warrants for driving on revoked license. ERPD served the warrants and faxed over the paperwork to the Hamilton County Jail.

25-008524- 4100 BLK Ringgold Road – Prescription Fraud
The pharmacy called ERPD to report possible prescription fraud. Upon arrival it was determined that the alleged fraud was not committed inside ERPD jurisdiction.

Night Shift August 12: D Squad

East Ridge Flash Flooding
Multiple residences were evacuated due to severe flooding in the area. A shelter was established at the Brainerd Community Center, and transportation was provided by the CARTA Bus line. Officers transported displaced citizens to Police/Fire Headquarters, where they were then transferred to the shelter. Multiple agencies collaborated in rescue efforts to evacuate citizens to a safe location. Officers emplaced several road closure signs throughout the city. THP closed I-24 entirely from the 4th Avenue exit in Chattanooga to the split with I-75 in East Ridge.

25-008535- 900 BLK McBrien Rd- Domestic Assault
A man was arrested for domestic assault following a fight he had with his father. The victim stated that the suspect became irate with his mother, then proceeded to attack him. Conditions were delivered to the victim.

25-008549 – 900 BLK Spring Creek Road - Suspicious Person
A woman was asked to leave Parkridge East Hospital by medical staff after malingering for two days. She was provided a courtesy ride to an open business, where she was advised to call her daughter to pick her up.

25-008551 – 6700 BLK Ringgold Road - Check for Hazard
Fallen tree debris blocked the eastbound lanes in the 6700 block of Ringgold Road. Police cleared the left lane and marked the right lane with signs for the street department to remove in the morning.

No Case Number- 6700 BLK Ringgold Road- Alarm Burglar
Police responded to a burglar alarm. Officers discovered an unsecured door and cleared the business. Dispatch advised that the keyholder was aware of the unlocked door and would not be responding. Police were unable to lock the door due to it being a deadbolt.
