Channel 3's Jason Stoogenke is headed for a bigger market - at Raleigh, N.C.
He has taken a news position with WRAL, News Channel 5.
His wife, Dana, said the move takes him from the 86th market to the 29th in the country. "Raleigh is a larger market than Nashville. WRAL is really well respected," she said.
She said Jason caught the eye of WRAL officials 18 months ago when they saw him reporting on the Tri-State Crematory case.
Jason was at WDNN at Dalton, Ga., prior to moving to WRCB-TV.
Dana will be leaving her position as director of comprehensive planning for the Regional Planning Agency. The position will now go to Greg Haynes, an RPA veteran.
She said, "We love Chattanooga and are real sad about leaving. We can't wait to come back."
She said Raleigh is much closer to Baltimore, where both she and Jason were born and grew up.
