Thomas Harland Gatten Jr., 61, died Monday, March 29, 2004, at his home.
Mr. Gatten was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during the Russian missile conflict, and a member of North Terrace Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Harland Sr. and Alice Gatten; daughter, Mary Alice Gatten; and two grandsons.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Gatten, Jasper; daughter, Emma Lee Moore, Martins Ferry, Ohio; sons, William Frank Gatten, Wheeling, W.Va., Thomas Harland Gatten III, Wheeling, W.Va., R.D. Ramsey, Dilles Bottom, Ohio, and Dean "Pete" Ramsey, Bellaire, Ohio; brother, William Gatten, Waynesboro, Pa.; sisters, Barbara Ruth Fulton, Shadyside, Ohio, and Virginia "Ginny" Gatten, Shadyside, Ohio; stepmother, Wilma Kestner Gatten, Wheeling, W.Va.; five grandchildren; stepbrothers, Harold Kestner of Moundsville, Ohio, and Donald Kestner of Moundsville, Ohio; and stepsisters, Margaret Fallova of Benwood, W.Va., and Betty Whitlatch of Wind Ridge, Pa.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Heritage Funeral Home chapel with Minister Perry Hurst officiating.
Interment will be in Powhatan, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Esophagus Cancer Research.
