Charles William “Bill” Bower, 77, of Chattanooga, died on Friday, January 21, 2005 at this home.
A native of Grant County, Kentucky, a former resident of Oneida, TN, he had been a resident of Chattanooga since 1955 and retired as the manager of the Mountain City Club in 1988. He was a member of the Concord Baptist Church and served in the US Navy.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Dr. Mary Catherine Koger Bower; a son, Charles Keith Bower and his parents, W. C. “Billy Claude” and Mada Ammerman Bower.
He is survived by two daughters, Beverly Ann Brooks and Susan Claudette Flanagan; a son, William Michael Bower, all of Chattanooga; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild; two sisters, Pauline Lee, Irene Henson, both of Knoxville; a brother, Jim Bower, Irwin, TN, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Rev. Steve McCary and Rev. David King officiating.
Burial will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
