Family fun for everyone is at Lake Winnepesaukah Amusement Park this Independence Day Weekend. On Saturday, July 2, Lake Winnepesaukah will light the candles on its 80th birthday celebration with a spectacular fireworks show. All weekend long, Lake Winnepesaukah welcomes Nickelodeon’s Dora The Explorer. The star of one of the most popular animated family series will be appearing to meet and greet guests of all ages at Lake Winnepesaukah on July 2, 3, and 4.

“Dora the Explorer is a character that has captured the hearts and imaginations of children and families,” stated Talley Green of Lake Winnepesaukah. “We are ecstatic to welcome her to Lake Winnepesaukah as her show represents the very same warm-hearted family entertainment that we maintain as the South’s favorite family amusement park.” Visits and personal photos with Dora The Explorer are free with park admittance to Lake Winnepesaukah.

Lake Winnepesaukah will celebrate the 4th of July with a fireworks show on Saturday, July 2, at 10 p.m. This pyrotechnic extravaganza will feature an amazing display with fireworks shot over the water and an aerial display which has become Lake Winnepesaukah’s Fourth of July trademark over the years.

The Prince of Parodies Cledus T. Judd will perform at Lake Winnepesaukah’s Jukebox Junction Stage on Monday, July 4, with shows at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m.

The Cartersville, Ga. hairdresser-turned-comedian won first place at an open mike comedy night at Atlanta’s Buckboard nightclub by singing two funny rap songs. Six months later he was in Nashville. After months of struggling to survive, he wrote his first parody with Bruce Burch, Indian In-Laws, based on Tim McGraw’s Indian Outlaw, and sent it to 250 radio stations. Two hundred forty-nine played it and he had the world laughing.

Cledus pokes fun at life, country music stars, and himself with his music. 270-Something, a parody of Mark Wills’ 19 Somethin’, has Cledus poking fun at himself and his weight. “I came up with the idea for that while sitting at the Longhorn restaurant one night,” he confesses. Where’s Your Mommy, a turn on Toby Keith’s Who’s Your Daddy, is a hilarious look at fatherhood. New Car is a raucous, poor-man’s take on Kenny Chesney’s Big Star. Martie, Emily & Natalie-The Continuing Saga Of, craftily sung to the music of Brad Paisley’s Celebrity, pokes fun at the Dixie Chicks.

The King of Country Comedy won Independent Video of the Year honors in 1996 and 1998 for If Shania Were Mine and Every Light In the House is Blown, respectively, and was a nominee for CMT’s Male Video Artist of the Year in 2000. Numerous other lauds have come his way, including Country Weekly’s 1997 nominations for Favorite Male Newcomer, Favorite Video Entertainer and Funniest Country Performer. Most recently, Cledus’ video for Great Day To Be A Guy was nominated for “Concept Video of the Year” at the 2003 fan-voted CMT Flameworthy Awards. Since 2002, Cledus has served as co-host for the weekly live television series CMT Most Wanted Live.
