Jack Lane Swaney, 75, of Ringgold, died Monday, February 20, 2006, at his residence.
He was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Swaney was a retired boilermaker with Union Local # 454 and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the U. S. Army. He was a member of the VFW, the Quitman Masonic Lodge #106 F&AM, and the East Ridge Aeromodelers.
Mr. Swaney was preceded in death by a daughter, Melody A. Walker, parents, Mr. & Mrs. Lester Swaney, four brothers, and two sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy M. Swaney; sons, Alan (Mary Ann) Swaney, Scottie (Marsha) Swaney, all of Ringgold; step-son, Lee (Sally) Smith, Athens, TN; step-daughter, Debbie (Gary) Smith, Chickamauga; brother, Clint Swaney, Dalton; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Arthur Sisk Jr. officiating. Interment will be in Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.
